I was honored to receive a blog award from Daphne Blau of Back Road bears AND Vicki From Baggaley Bears. Thanks so much for reading my Blog and actually thinking it worthy of an award. I often wonder if people enjoy reading my garble as much as I enjoy reading others! lol.
Thanks so much! After the week I've had this really brightened my day.
Here is the official accompanying text :-" The authors say that blogs who receive this award are exceedingly charming . This blog invests in proximity in space , time and relationships . These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandisement . Our hope is that when the ribbons of these awards are cut , even more friendships will be propagated . Please give your kind attention to these writers ! Deliver this award to 8 bloggers who will choose 8 more , and include this cleverly written text in to the body of the award . "
I will pass this along to 8 wonderful bloggers later today.
Well I thought I would do a bit of an update... My truck is still smashed up.. and the insurance company wants to write it off and give me not enough money to buy another truck. So I am trying to work that out with the insurance. It would be fine if I had not just spent almost 7 grand fixing my truck. *sigh*. I did nothing wrong, I just went to work... The dork crashed into me... but I am the one being punished.
So today, I spent 2 hours resting on the couch with Ghost.. I don't sit around much but Ghost seemed happy about it.. lol. My big cuddle bug is the happiest when it's just us. He is a one person kitty :)
I have not been working on my bears.. my arms are still sore and my wrist is still hurting me from the accident. I need to go back to the Dr and have it looked at... I keep procrastinating hoping it will just get better... I don't think they can do anything for it anyway.
Today I just cleaned up a bit and looked at the bears I started a couple weeks ago. They are calling me. I decided to take a few pictures of the fabrics I am working with... As well as some of the projects that I have been working on. Including my little needle felted Dragon. I will try to get him up on Etsy tomorrow. I can't get a good photo of him in this lighting, if it was not so cold I would venture out and get a better one... maybe tomorrow.. lol. I think you can get the idea with the photo here. I have one more almost done in bright pink and blue. I am very much looking forward to feeling better. I am so anxious to get my newest critters made. I am still working on those 2 new Kittens.. AND I am working on a Troll! He is looking very cute so far.. but I am going to keep him a surprise untill he is done :) :)
Well, so far 2009 has not been so kind to me... Friday someone crashed into the side of my truck. I am okay but still kind of upset... and my wrist and back are hurting me which is not making things easier. There is about 4 Grand Damage to my truck. I am just happy and thankful it was not worse... could have been so much worse. I need to get a rental.. but to tell you the truth I am not so thrilled about driving at the moment. I think I will wait a few more days.
So in other news I have 2 darling needle felted Dragons done that I will be listing as soon as I am able to. I was also working on 2 gorgeous kittens and some 4-5" happy colored antique style bears. When I am not hurting so much I will get back to work on them.
Well, I had a bit of a "holiday".. meaning I still had to go in to work.. but still managed to squeak a few days off over the last week. It was very nice to have a few days to myself and relax, AND sew! An icky stomach virus has been making the rounds in my work and family.. so far I have managed to not get it. Hoooray! People have been so sick, it's scary. *XX that is me crossing my fingers I don't get it.
Santa was good to me Bringing a GPS, a gorgeous Bracelet, a hoodie with puppy ears (sooo cute), the new wow expansion, a sweater and a pile of other goodies too... AND.. AND.. AND a Kristina Bears Elephant! Made by my beautiful and talented friend Kristina Simon. I am in love with this little Elephant.. I may just have to bribe her to make me one in pink.. heehee.. (are you reading this Kristina? MORE MORE! PINK PINK!!! ;) :D lol).
Christmas was nice and quiet. I had my brother and his g/f over for Christmas eve Fondue. That was so much fun. We watched Christmas movies and laughed. It was a great evening and I've really been needing one of those. Christmas day we went and ate dinner at my Mom and Dads. As always my Mom puts on a feast and we ate till we could not eat another bite :)
Brad and I spent the last of the New Year in pure 2008 style... Broken down on the side of the freeway with a very broken Transmission. I told Brad at least it happened before 2009 so maybe we can have a clean slate! lol.
I have been a busy little elf, with my days off I managed to finish Kristina's Christmas Prezzie, which was a newer pattern... a longer neck and larger Dragon. I hand dyed him and then did a sparkle pigment over the felt. I think he turned out pretty cute.. But Kristina seemed love him so that is all that matters :)
I also needle felted 2 itty Dragons and some other little "bear or Dollhouse buddies". I will probably post them on my Etsy shop when I can get a photo of them.. I really need to invest in some photo lighting eqt for these long winters of Darkness... If anyone has some Photo light suggestions please do let me know :) *hug*
I also have started 2 Himalayan kitties that I have just finished dyeing last night.. they are looking soooo pretty. One is a new size (BIG..lol) the other is going to be about 6.5". I am sooooo excited about them. It feels VERY good to be back into a bit of a sewing groove.
What else is new... OH I got another Chinchilla.. lol. His Mommy could not keep him anymore so asked if I could take one more... heehee. Oh, I always have room for.. "just one more" critter... well not always of course, but I could not resist another delightful Chin! :) He is a real sweetie and LOVES chin Scratchies.. heehee. I will ask Brad to take a photo of myself and "Faffy" this week. Cher has still not had her babies.. should be any day now though! I am so excited. I can't wait to meet them.
So I am back to work this week, I should have some New Years resolution... but I've never really thought I needed a new year to make a change. Looking back on 2008, it has been one of the most difficult years. I hope 2009 brings: Health, Happiness, less Challenges, less stress, more love and more time to sew... I will add one resolution, I guess, just to be status quo.. lol.. I want to try to be more organized... with work and with my projects.
So much love and many hugs. Thank you to all who read my blog and adopt my bears and minis. It means the world to me that my bears and critters have loving homes all over the world!
