Chinchillas and new minis

I've been trying to get a photo of my Chinchillas.. but they move too quickly so all photos are fuzzy.. lol. So instead I have made a little video of them, for those of you who wanted to see :)
I need a name for the white one.. Her name was Powder.. but I don't think that suits her she is sooo naughty... hehee. The Beige boy I think I am going to call Furito.. teehee.

Also I have some new minis I have just taken photos of and I will be uploading those to the etsy shop. I will try to have that done today! I am also working on those Christmas ornaments! There will hopefully be 3 of them when I am done.. well 4 but one is already spoken for... lol. Now I just need to get time to work on them. Hope you all have a great week!

Bear sale and other ramblings :)

I use to walk for an hour a day at the track. I stopped when I moved to Edmonton a couple years ago. So on the weekend I picked up an elliptical trainer and I love it. I've used it twice this week and intend to keep up with it. When I lived in Stony plain I had a life cycle bike and I loved the thing.. but I could not take it with me when I moved. I think with having no sunshine and it being to chilly to do much outside this is the next best thing.

Also I spent a good hour in my studio hugging mohair and thinking up new ideas :) I pulled out 5 pieces of fabric and I AM going to try to get at least one bear ornament to put up for adoption.

Okay, one more thing of the day, I've decided to do a bear sale for Christmas. I know budgets are a little tighter this year and to thank all my wonderful customers who have been putting up with my sporadic post of bears.. I will be offering some really good deals at my Etsy shop. Friday I will be putting the prices back up to the regular price. Merry Christmas!

Love and hugs!

I have been a bad little blogger as of late. I have not been feeling myself the last couple of weeks. I try to keep a positive attitude.. but with what seems to be a constant pressure and the impending winter coming.. it's not so easy to keep a cheerful attitude. I often envy people who never seem to be stressed out about things. The never ending battle seems exhausting some days. The news and the office spin with the doom and gloom of what is happening in the world. It takes most of my willpower just to find something positive in each day.

We just recently celebrated the first year in our home. It is a great feat considering it has been one of the most challenging years we have faced. It seems to be one obstacle after another, but I am so proud of what we have accomplished in one year. I just keep my hopes up that 2009 will be an easier year.

I had planned on making some Christmas ornaments to sell... but I don't think I'm going to be able to manage to get that much done. So if you are looking for a xmas gift for yourself or someone else please visit my
etsy shop. That will be it for this year unless a miracle happens. lol.

Love to you all and Hugs,

The Ant and the Grasshopper.

Retold from Aesop by Rohini Chowdhury

Once there lived an ant and a grasshopper in a grassy meadow.

All day long the ant would work hard, collecting grains of wheat from the farmer's field far away. She would hurry to the field every morning, as soon as it was light enough to see by, and toil back with a heavy grain of wheat balanced on her head. She would put the grain of wheat carefully away in her larder, and then hurry back to the field for another one. All day long she would work, without stop or rest, scurrying back and forth from the field, collecting the grains of wheat and storing them carefully in her larder.

The grasshopper would look at her and laugh. 'Why do you work so hard, dear ant?' he would say. 'Come, rest awhile, listen to my song. Summer is here, the days are long and bright. Why waste the sunshine in labour and toil?'

The ant would ignore him, and head bent, would just hurry to the field a little faster. This would make the grasshopper laugh even louder. 'What a silly little ant you are!' he would call after her. 'Come, come and dance with me! Forget about work! Enjoy the summer! Live a little!' And the grasshopper would hop away across the meadow, singing and dancing merrily.

Summer faded into autumn, and autumn turned into winter. The sun was hardly seen, and the days were short and grey, the nights long and dark. It became freezing cold, and snow began to fall.

The grasshopper didn't feel like singing any more. He was cold and hungry. He had nowhere to shelter from the snow, and nothing to eat. The meadow and the farmer's field were covered in snow, and there was no food to be had. 'Oh what shall I do? Where shall I go?' wailed the grasshopper. Suddenly he remembered the ant. 'Ah - I shall go to the ant and ask her for food and shelter!' declared the grasshopper, perking up. So off he went to the ant's house and knocked at her door. 'Hello ant!' he cried cheerfully. 'Here I am, to sing for you, as I warm myself by your fire, while you get me some food from that larder of yours!'

The ant looked at the grasshopper and said, 'All summer long I worked hard while you made fun of me, and sang and danced. You should have thought of winter then! Find somewhere else to sing, grasshopper! There is no warmth or food for you here!' And the ant shut the door in the grasshopper's face.

It is wise to worry about tomorrow today.

Never ending Chaos

Hey all,
just thought I'd Check in quickly. I sometimes think, in all reality I could use a clone.. lol. I don't think I have stopped running for the past week. I am exhausted and nothing seems to be getting done. I have a list as long as my arm.. and one of those things on my list is to be more organized. It is hard to be organized when you have your whole house turned upside down all the time though. It should be getting better soon though. We are working everyday on the new bedroom and it is coming along nicely. We have got the first coat of primer on the walls.. but the taper has to come back and fix a few things before we can continue. I hope that will be tomorrow.

Tonight I am going to look at a pair of Chinchillas.. that will more than likely be coming home with me. These (if they healthy) will be my Birthday present from Brad.. I hope these little guys are what I am looking for :)
I have not had time to photo shoot those new critters.. I still hope to get that done this week.. but it might have to wait till Saturday because the sun is not up yet when I leave for work.. and it's down already by the time I get home. I really need that natural light to get the real colors of the bears. Well, I hope one of these days I will have a photo studio area set up... We do plan on it.. but that is way down on the priority list at the moment.

So not much else is new.. just working lots at work.. and working lots at home.... OH and starting to think about Christmas. I really want to put a few lights up this year.. we shall see... I have a habit of biting off more than I can chew.

Hope all is well with everyone in blog-land!
